Asmedia Asm1061 Drivers For Mac
The SATA ports on my HP Presario P6214Y motherboard failed. The BIOS would not recognize any of my SATA disks.
(it would sometimes for 1-2 minutes after power up)
I reset the BIOS to default.
I installed an Asmedia Asm106x PCIe controller card and connected my hard drive
The system will now partially boot. The computer attempted an automatic system repair, but system repair was unsuccessful and did not help.
I was able to boot a system recovery CD. I attempted to load the Asmedia drivers but the driver load failed.
I can boot into F8 but safe mode and safe mode with command prompt would not work.

I was able to get into 'Repair Your Computer' Command prompt.

I attempted to load the drivers with RUNDLL32.EXE SETUPAPI.DLL,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128 .asahci64.inf
I got no indication at all. No errors, no success messages either.

Still same result. Complete boot fails but will boot enough to attempt system repair and F8 works but safe mode won't work.
I'm pretty sure the hard drive is good. I was able to copy off the data to another computer with a SATA to USB device
Any other suggestions on getting it to boot?
Any suggestions on a different SATA card?
