Warning: I didn't include or consider the specs and expensive numbers, you can Google it and discover it on Wacom's official website. Most of what's composed is from my first hand experience. It's pretty much my opinion so pls no a lot hate if you disagree. A couple of days ago I saw the release of the new line of Wacom tablets that are to change the now old Intuos Pen (CTL-690) tablets. So happened right the day after my sibling purchased the tablet. So yay! A review.
Oh gosh this is a gorgeous tablet. It's essentially the better version of whatever I might think of that the CTL-690 could be. I keep in mind distinctly how I believed to myself 'If only the white part of that tablet was black, it 'd look so much better.' Boom, now we have an extremely streamlined looking Intuos Art. It even comes in other colours and still maintain its elegance.

Among the first things I saw on this tablet is the size, it's smaller than the CTL-690, but the tablet area is the same, so no concerns there. The size might even help with the mobility. Second, the buttons on the tablet has actually been improved. Instead of sensation like they 'd break when I put too much force when I click it, it feels a lot more comfy and satisfying to press. The indent sensation in the buttons is shaped to your fingertips so it's a lot nicer too, unlike the flatness of the CTL-690's buttons.

Finally, the surface of the tablet is rougher. As in the parts that isn't really the drawing surface. The plastic is those rougher types that wouldn't leave finger prints like the plastic on the black top of the CTL-690. The drawing surface feels the same as it's predecessor when you touch it, but drawing on it with a pen feels various. On CTL-690, the surface (to me), feels like writing on paper, which is what surprised me when I first used it. I had utilized another tablet before (Genius MousePen. Sounds stupid however hey guy I got a new tablet for a factor) and it never felt so paper like or rough in a nice method. Nevertheless, the Intuos Art feels a lot smoother than CTL-690, it's not as rough but not that smooth either. Perhaps because it's more plastic-plastic now? I have no idea. However it doesn't feel as clearly plastic as my very first inexpensive tablet, so it's not too bad either.
I generally found drawing on the tablet quite pleasurable, perhaps even better than my CTL-690 (possibly it's due to the fact that I do not seem like I'm sawing off my nib all the time due to the roughness?). But one issue I encountered is that the tablet freezes or lags at often when I utilized it to draw on Photoshop CC on a Macbook. I don't know the cause of it yet however I have yet to test of this problem on a Windows computer. It doesn't seem to take place on the Mac when I'm not extremely attempting to draw lines.
I normally tap when I leap when I play osu! the smoothness makes it harder to stop completely when I tap often even when I change to a new nib on my CTL-690, Intuos Art would be even worse, but it isn't really that bad however. It should not be a big issue to most osu! players because primarily everyone hovers, even if they drag, their nibs most likely will not die out as quickly as if they were to drag out a CTL-690. Among the other bigger differences between the two tablets is the back cover. For Intuos Art, the whole top part of the tablet is the cover, while on CTL-690 it's only the small middle section. Being smaller, the cover for CTL-690 is much easier to get rid of.
The back of Intuos Art houses more things, aside from the normal additional 3 nibs, that hole that helps you remove the nib from your pen etc. This time instead of leaving you to wonder exactly what's going on, there are indented instructions on the surface to point you where to go and what to do. It's exceptionally useful for people who have no concept how/too lazy to utilize Google to learn exactly what they are or ways to do exactly what. The 'style' might be charming to a few, or may be a pain to others for the waste of aesthetic appeals for long-term helplines there in a handwriting font style.
The other things in the back is an area for you to set up an element to make your tablet wireless. Great for basic visual appeals. The downer is that it is sold individually. Nevertheless, as an osu! player, going wireless would welcome a very small input lag, not precisely the very best thing you 'd want. Though it might be very little, however don't take my word given that I have not in fact purchased the additional cordless package.
